Liposuction

LIPOSUCTION

Liposuction is a very effective treatment for removing isolated pockets of fat that cause certain areas of the body to appear disproportionate. These localized fat deposits typically do not respond to exercise or diets.

Abdomen, thighs, buttocks and the neck can be treated alone or in combination with other surgical procedures to enhance the result.

Removed fat can also be used as a Fat Graft. Undergoing first a specific process, it can be then injected in different areas of the  face and body, such as cheeks, nasolabial folds, breasts and buttocks.

THE PROCEDURE:

Liposuction can be performed under local anesthesia with sedation or under general anesthesia if liposuction is extensive or combined with other procedures. Liposuction is performed on an outpatient basis and you can go home the same day.

After surgery you will be placed into a compression garment which will aid in reducing postoperative swelling and help skin retraction. You will be instructed to wear it for a month.

Dr. Soteriou patients typically return to their normal daily activities the day after surgery. You will be advised to avoid exercise for a period of one month.

Results are permanent but possible changes in your body weight or a future pregnancy can alter the outcome.
