GYNECOMASTIA

Gynecomastia is a swelling of the breast tissue in boys or men, caused by an imbalance of the hormones estrogen and testosterone. Gynecomastia can affect one or both breasts. Men and boys with gynecomastia sometimes have pain in their breasts and may feel embarrassed.

THE PROCEDURE:

During the procedure, the excess fat and glandular tissue that cause the enlargement of the breast are removed. A semicircular skin incision is hidden in the junction of the areola and the breast skin.

After surgery you will go home with the compression vest and you will be permitted to shower the day after. You will be instructed to wear the compression vest for a month.

Dr Soteriou patients typically return to their normal daily activities 1-3 days after surgery. However, you will need to restrict any strenuous activity for a week. Gym is restricted for 4 weeks.
