Breast augmentation is one of the most common aesthetic procedures. Women may choose to undergo breast augmentation for various reasons such an under developed breasts, or because of differences in the sizes of the breasts. After pregnancy, significant changes in the appearance of a woman’s breasts frequently occur. Breast augmentation can give a woman more proportional shape and may improve self confidence.
During the consultation, Dr. Soteriou will listen to your concerns and goals regarding breast augmentation surgery and he will spend as much time as necessary to make you feel comfortable. Throughout the process, the appropriate breast implant size will be determined.
The procedure is performed at American Medical Center under general anesthesia and you might stay overnight. Breast implants are placed through skin incisions, hidden in the inframammary fold and the position of the implants, over or under the muscle, will be discussed with Dr Soteriou during the consultation.
After surgery, you will go home with the surgical bra and you will be permitted to shower the day after. You will be instructed to wear the surgical bra for a month.
Patients typically return to their normal daily activities the day after surgery. However, you will need to restrict any strenuous activity for a week and there will be no lifting anything over 5-10 Kg for the first 2 weeks. Gym is restricted for 4 weeks.
